Research in the Brier Lab focuses on the mechanisms underlying the progression of multiple sclerosis (MS) in the context of seemingly well-treated relapsing MS. Our lab uses both MRI and PET imaging, complemented by clinical, cognitive and laboratory assessments, to explore these questions.

We are a highly collaborative group located within the Neuroimaging Labs Research Center (NIL-RC). This center comprises scientists who use advanced neuroimaging techniques to study various aspects of the central nervous system. Faculty members from the departments of neurology, radiology and psychiatry are part of NIL-RC, with expertise ranging from highly technical to clinical research.

The Brier Lab is part of the Section of Multiple Sclerosis & Neuroimmunology within the Department of Neurology. This section includes both basic and clinical researchers dedicated to understanding, treating and ultimately curing MS.
