Lab philosophy & mentoring statement

The Brier Lab is committed to cultivating a diverse, inclusive, and effective research environment for all trainees and staff. We recognize that diversity of background, experience, and talent-areas improves the science we undertake. All members of the lab are expected to contribute to this environment in an effective way. While working together, we leverage the unique abilities of each individual to improve the scientific endeavor. The lab is small and I am present in the lab almost every day. I enjoy “rolling up my sleeves” (as much as that can be relevant in a primarily computational environment) and helping lab members achieve their goals. I am committed to the success of everyone in the lab and will support career development and new opportunities for each member.
